Physician Recognition Program

BlueCross and BlueChoice^® HealthPlan started the Physician Recognition Program (PRP) to promote good health and fight disease. As you know, heart disease and diabetes are among the leading health issues affecting South Carolinians. PRP is a voluntary program available to Preferred Blue^® and BlueChoice HealthPlan network providers only.

How to Qualify

Network physicians who receive recognition from one of these three physician-level programs can receive $2,000 from both BlueCross and BlueChoice HealthPlan for a total of $4,000.

There is also a practice-level recognition program available. Network practices can receive $2,000 from both BlueCross and BlueChoice HealthPlan for a total of $4,000 per physician system or entity for completion of the NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition Program.

The physician/practice is responsible for all costs of the application process.  As an NCQA Recognition Program Champion for Quality, we have arranged for a 20 percent discount on the NCQA application fees for eligible physicians/practices that apply.  To receive your discount code, please email your practice name, contact person and the name of the program you are interested in (Diabetes, Heart/Stroke or Patient-Centered Medical Home) to andrea.lance@bcbssc.com.
