Highmark is a diversified health and wellness system based in Pennsylvania that provides integrated Blue Cross and Blue Shield coverage for their members. To ensure their members are receiving the appropriate care in the proper setting while living and traveling outside of the Highmark service areas, Highmark is expanding their prior authorization requirements for certain outpatient services. Effective Nov. 1, 2020, Highmark is requiring out-of-area providers servicing their members to get an outpatient prior authorization.
